Youth Art Scholarship Fact Sheet

Two years ago, on the 20th Anniversary of our television show, It’s All About Arts, we had a gala event. The event was a celebration as well as a kick off for our Youth Scholarship Program. We had many generous sponsors. After the event we were able to offer three - $500 scholarships to local youth. Our target is middle and high school kids. The money can be used for performing arts (dance or music) or art classes. Recently we held a fundraiser at the Rozzie Theatre in partnership with CSz Boston Comedy and will be giving out four scholarships in the coming months. We endeavor to hold fundraisers to be able to give out yearly scholarships. The scholarships are managed through the Roslindale Arts Alliance, with fiscal nonprofit status via Community Arts Advocates*.

About It’s All About Arts - https://www.facebook.com/TalkArts/
A weekly LIVE hour-long television show hosted by Glenn Williams and produced by Janice Williams established in 1997 (all volunteer). The show is cable cast on Boston Cable stations (Comcast, RCN and Verizon) and streamed live from the BNN Media website (http://www.bnnmedia.org). It is also available via VOD. The show interviews artists and principals of art organizations throughout the greater Boston area. We also host music performances on the show. In 2017, the It’s All About Arts E Magazine was created to further enhance the visibility of local arts and culture.  On July 1, 2019, we will have our final show in the current format. http://itsallaboutarts.com/cableshow.htm

About Roslindale Arts Alliance - http://www.roslindalearts.org/
Established in 1997, the organization helps to foster local arts and culture in Roslindale. RAA established the first Roslindale Open Studios in 2004 and managed all aspects of the event for ten years.  Now managed by a group of Roslindale artists, it is in its 15th year. RAA procures spaces for local art exhibits and provides marketing (volunteer). RAA over the years has participated and provided art activities for many Roslindale community events such as the annual Egg Hunt, Tree Lighting, Boston Community Centers for Youth and Families, and Farmers Market. In 2015, RAA established the first Roslindale Porch Fest, now in its 4th year.
